Richard W. Olmsted, 63, passed away on Sunday surrounded by his loving family. He is survived by his wife of 40 years, Mary Pamela (Kennedy) Olmsted; parents, Margaret and Keith Krewson of Charlton MA; sister Leslie K. Guise and brother-in-law Albert of Lorian OH; sister Kathryn Olmsted and brother-in-law John Leggett of North Hero VT; sister Susan Olmsted and brother-in-law Adin Gilman of Greenfield, MA; and sister Lindsey Hughes and brother-in-law Eldred of Los Angeles, CA. He will also be missed by his sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Paula and Darell Burtner of Butler PA, and his nieces Ashley and Alicia. He was predeceased by his brother Randall Krewson. Dick graduated from Butler High School, Butler PA and attended the Illinois Institute of Technology and MIT. He served in the National Guard.
Dick excelled in his professional life as a mechanical engineer, receiving 3 patents for his designs of valves for water safety, flow control, and plumbing products in his career at Watts Regulator. He enjoyed life and had a warm circle of friends that he loved to entertain at his home, cottage on the ocean, and most of all, on his boat.
