James “Sam” F. Pernoski, 32, of Mashapaug Road, died Friday at Harrington Memorial Hospital, Southbridge, of injuries he sustained earlier in the day from a motorcycle crash in Union, Connecticut.
Born in Stafford Springs, Connecticut, on April 8, 1948, he was employed as a switch inspector in Springfield, and had lived in this community for the past five years.
He was a veteran of the Navy with service in the Vietnam War. He was a member of St. Christopher’s Church in Brimfield.
He is survived by his widow, Nancy (Haley) Pernoski; one daughter, Sarah Elizabeth, at home; his mother, Mary M. Pernoski of Wales; a brother, Eugene P. of Wales, and three sisters — Patricia Fisk of Bennington, VT, Kathleen Willis of Seal Beach, California, and Julianne Meagher of Augusta, Maine.
